RF/Microwave Engineer II

The RF/Microwave Engineer II is responsible for product development or internal R&D efforts, which include design efforts ranging from simple RF microwave features to complex microwave network assemblies from customer or internal specifications. Design includes feature 3D modeling simulations, design optimization based on fabrication tolerances, assessing performance relative to requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment and is required to participate in proposal efforts and customer technical reviews. Verification and qualification of the designs is also required for this position. Must be eligible to work on defense and other programs subject to ITAR regulations. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card); Ability to obtain security clearance.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand customer specifications and drawings to assist in proposal and development efforts
  • Assist in estimating timeframe of design efforts
  • Design and evaluate microwave components and lay-out designs
  • Prepare and present technical information for internal and external design reviews
  • Design test circuits and perform finalization of design for Detailers
  • Review detailed design packages prior to release of drawing package for fabrication
  • Train, mentor and provide guidance to Interns and Technicians
  • Participle in the MRB process in understanding and troubleshooting product non compliance
  • Provide product support during the transition from development to production
  • Administer reports to customers as needed
  • Work to develop customer relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity
Required Skills:
  • Full understanding of microwave transmission line concepts as they apply to RF design and the knowledge of how to take these ideal concepts and transform them into manufacutrable design
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to document technical specifications and prepare application notes
  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD, HFSS and other circuit simulation tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Impeccable time management skills
  • Multitasking and prioritization of tasks and projects
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interface with customers and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Required Experience:

Education:    Masters Degree - Electrical Engineering
Experience:  3-5 Years Relevant Experience
