Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, test and support electronic circuits for military and space based applications. This involves all stages of product development from initial concept, through design, development and test, to production support. The ideal candidate will take ideas and conduct research and analysis to develop best fit solution and optimize hardware functionality. This position may require interaction with customer to develop requirements, present design reviews, and provide support to resolve problems. This individual must be capable of working with minimal supervision, while providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.

Must be eligible to work on defense and other programs subject to ITAR regulations; candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card).



  • Generate detailed analog, DC power and/or digital circuit designs based on customer requirements and design inputs
  • Collaborate with project management to track design progress and identify risks
  • Work with mechanical team to ensure size, weight, vibration and thermal constraints met
  • Select parts and components to meet performance, environmental & program requirements
  • Facilitate layout of test circuits, printed circuit boards and/or hybrid modules, following electrical design rules and constraints
  • Create required design documentation including schematics, parts lists, test plans, product data sheets and user guides
  • Define any necessary test software requirements and/or generate firmware code for programmable devices
  • Develop product and provide guidance to others on specific design functions
  • Prepare material and present at design reviews, both within the company and with outside customers
  • Test activities to support product design and development
  • Outline test requirements for prototype, pre-production, production and qualification testing
  • Lead test effort, including design of test fixtures and test software function/module validation
  • Generate test procedures, qualification procedures and part certification plans
  • Monitor test results and use data to optimize product performance and improve test implementation
  • Generate full test documentation and reports
  • Perform analysis to support design, development and optimization of products and processes
  • Provide detailed analysis requirements and lead analysis efforts
  • Provide inputs for component stress, thermal modeling and reliability analysis
  • Generate functional circuit models and/or simulations of VHDL code in any programmable devices
  • Simulate key circuit functions to verify electrical performance and signal integrity
  • Support test repeat ability analysis for products, fixtures and processes
  • Analyze results and interpret data to find correlations and trends
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in event of failures
  • Document complete analysis and interpretation of results
  • Work in compliance with document control systems, including revision and source control
  • Listen to and understand customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action that exceeds expectations
  • Guide and mentor production testers, technicians and junior level engineers
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in analog, DC power and/or digital circuit design, layout and test
  • Thorough knowledge of printed circuit board and/or hybrid module manufacturing processes
  • Basic understanding of RF/Microwave principles would be beneficial
  • Ability to take general concepts and/or requirements and turn them into the development of specific products or support functionality
  • Ability to convey design information, performance data, test methods and recommendations/reasons to customers
  • Superior problem solving skills and the tenacity to find the best possible solution(s)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a multi-discipline team
  • Strong computer skills, including electronic modeling, thermal modeling and/or digital circuit analysis and simulation
Required Experience:

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree - Electrical or Computer Engineering

Experience: 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
