Friendly, upbeat, sincere, humble, excited by what’s possible… The truth is we’re quite proud of our culture, here at Anaren. Shared across all facilities, evident in all departments, and propagated from bottom to top – the ‘feel’ of working with or for us Anaren is influenced by our values and has these additional qualities:
Intuitively structured – We don’t claim to be ‘flat’ (with approximately 1200 associates worldwide, that would be inefficient if not impossible), but our organizational structure is lean and intuitive by design. The result is an efficiently run, responsive operation that quickly moves new products from concept to reality…that minimizes our costs and leadtimes for our customers…and that offers our associates (and Anaren at large) ample opportunities for growth.
Caring – As a company, and as individuals, we are people who care about our community and express it by contributing time, talent, and financial support. On a corporate level, Anaren supports such diverse organizations and ‘causes’ as The American Red Cross, Syracuse Symphony, Make-a-wish Foundation, and Food Bank of CNY among others. (Learn more about organizations we’ve supported historically, what Anaren is particularly interested in support or to apply for corporate support.).
Communicative – Being in the fast-changing communication business, we’re sensitive to the value of communication. That’s why we maintain constant contact with our customers via a top-notch field-sales/technical support team, dedicated customer service team, electronic job-sharing in real time, among other means. It’s why we communicate internally with quarterly addresses by our management team, company newsletter (The Anaren Standard), an active employee suggestion program, a TalentTrackers program that rewards current employees for new-hire referrals, and (of course) today’s ‘must-have’ tools such as company-wide email, Instant Messenger, remote email, among others. And, by way of communicating with our valued shareholders, we are of course fully compliant with all SEC filing requirements, supportive of common transparency practices relating to corporate governance, and proud to share our corporate strategy.
Friends & fun – Several informal groups, based on outside interests, exist at Anaren and are indicative of the collegial atmosphere we have here. Among our facilities, you will find groups interested in running, fishing, mountain biking, racquetball, canoeing, online gaming, pro-sports, and dining are among the activities around which folks here seem organize and enjoy time together outside of work. Got interests of your own? Chances are someone here shares it and would be more than willing to discuss it with or join you!
Diverse – Place of birth, age, religion, race, gender, outside interests, skills, abilities and disabilities… By both law and inclination (after all, we truly value the energy and ethos that go with having a range of backgrounds represented in our culture!) – the Anaren team is totally diverse. And, we know for a fact, better for it!
Always learning – At Anaren, we’re big believers in the value of education and training, recognizing their importance both in keeping our company strong and in enriching the lives of our employees and industry. One manifestation is the relationships our Human Resources team maintains with technologically rich colleges and universities the world over, wherein Anaren offers internships and mentoring support to the next-generation of RF/microwave professionals. Another is the Tuition Assistance program we offer associates seeking to continue their education beyond Anaren’s walls. And perhaps our proudest example? In honor of our two co-founders, Carl Gerst and Hugh A. Hair (1934-2002), Anaren established the Gerst-Hair Endowed Fund in Microwave Engineering at Syracuse University in 2004; the fund will help the University recruit and retain students in its RF/Microwave Engineering program. (Beyond the endowment, Anaren also provides critical support to this same SU program by availing engineers to supervise projects and teach courses, and offering students access to some of our equipment and facilities.) Lastly, Anaren is pleased to work closely with the following institutions of higher learning regarding consortiums, internships, or career placement opportunities -- and we are always looking to expand these relationships as well. - Syracuse University
- Onondaga Community College
- Virginia Tech
- Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)
- Morrisville State College
- Cayuga Community College
- Cornell University
- Northeastern University
- LeMoyne College
